Mr. and Mrs. Teabody Nibble the Big Apple

Bon Jour, Mon Petit Chou!

Mrs. Teabody is charmed to meet with you again after her three-day sojourn in the city often referred to as the "Big Apple." According to Mr. Wikipedia: "The Big Apple" is a nickname for New York City. It was first popularized in the 1920s by John J. Fitz Gerald, a sports writer for the New York Morning Telegraph. Its popularity since the 1970s is due to a promotional campaign by the New York Convention and Visitors Bureau, known now as NYC & Company." Mr. and Mrs. Teabody enjoy NYC in small doses a few times each year, always returning with new energy, new ideas, and a greater appreciation for home.

Among the many delightful diversions of the trip was the opportunity to stay in yet another fine hotel. As you well imagine, Gentle Reader, Mrs. T. was quite happy! This time it was the Empire Hotel located in the Lincoln Center. As a rural person, Mrs. Teabody is always a bit agog when she sees draperies that are ten yards long and six yards wide with no discernible  seams. She also confesses staring with chin dropped as the concrete stairs leading to the fountains at Lincoln Centre lighted sequentially . Embedding light strips in forty yards' wide stairs is simply outside Mrs. Teabody's comprehension. Mon Dieu! Inside the hotel were many features the Teabodys approved: soothing music with comprehensible non-violent lyrics, vast, two-level lobby with generous seating and nice reading nooks on the mezzanine, rooftop bar.  Mr. and Mrs. Teabody thoroughly enjoyed dining in The Chowder House.  There is very little the Teabodys would change about their accommodation although there is a story of a misstep Mrs. Teabody will relate at a later time for your amusement. Perhaps on the morrow?

Tickle Your Fancy attempts to bring you, Gentle Reader, gifts and teas you will not find anywhere else. For that reason Mr. and Mrs. Teabody visit the International Gift Market twice a year to see what exciting new products have been created across this vast planet. Mrs. Teabody cannot wait to see your reaction to the new treasures that will be finding their way to the village in the coming weeks. From teas that promise healing and beauty benefits, to fabrics that complement your lovely ensembles, to gifts that will make you go "oooooooooo" to ones that will make you LOL, you, Gentle Reader, are in for a treat. Mrs. Teabody thinks you will want to spend most of March camped at Tickle Your Fancy so do make your plans accordingly. Mrs. Teabody will happily provide a soft pillow for your darling petit chou.

Such an amazing sunrise this morning, Gentle Reader, on this very last day of January. Mrs. Teabody hopes you see your own rosy future in this bright herald. Make a promise to yourself that you will do something to make this day memorable. Even if that something is simply stopping by TYF and sharing a cuppa with Mrs. Teabody. She would like that very much. Ta for now!
