Mrs. Teabody is Home at Last!

Image
Hello My Darlings! Mrs. Teabody extends her apologies for taking such a long -- though some may say well-deserved - - holiday. Lovely having such an active social life with engagement upon engagement, and the experiences gathered  Mrs. Teabody deems delightful. Mrs. Teabody should like to share these across several blog entries  so do be vigilant. The first will chronicle events in New York City or as Mrs. Teabody's companion, Countess Genteele calls it, The   Big Apple . Ta for now!

Mrs. Teabody Takes a Holiday

Gentle Readers, Mrs. Teabody is in a brown study this morning as she prepares for  her outing in New York City. It's a long journey by train, and Mr. Teabody is ever fearful that Mrs. Teabody will whiz right past her stop and land in some far-flung destination, but Mrs. Teabody has set various alarms to forestall that unfortunate event. Whether or not Mrs. Teabody embraces the Twenty-first century and has Floss pack her laptop computer -- To blog or not to blog ? -- is a decision best left till after afternoon tea. Today's flavor is Tea Forte's Pomegranate Blackberry which can be quite energizing. About  Floss. Floss is Mrs. Teabody's helpmate, and she has been a whirlwind of activity today with linens and laundry and preparing the motor car for the journey to the train station. Mrs. Teabody became quite cross with Floss when she intimated that Mr. and Mrs. Teabody could have a much more presentable motor car if the two did not use it as a gardening accessory! Mrs.

Darlings All! Mrs. Teabody is loathe to discuss events of the last two days as she should not like to spend a July afternoon abed, and the mere remembrance sends her forehead vein athump. However, THINGS HAVE HAPPENED  and while Mrs. Teabody and Lady Glass are back on friendly terms, Mrs. Teabody has not altogether forgiven her friend.  To the matter: Gentle Readers, Mrs. Teabody reminds you of the inexplicable series of events at the Ferrous' household: all the comings and goings, unexpected guests, fast motor cars. At Lady Glass's insistence, Mrs. Teabody packed a portmanteau with necessaries to spend two overnights at the cottage of Lady Blackthorne in an effort to examine the comings and goings at the Ferrous house. Mrs. Teabody is not fond of vacation cottages as you are well aware. In truth, Mrs. Teabody has little patience  with being anywhere sans  domestic help, and Lady Blackthorne's accommodation borders on   primitive. A long period of watchfulness reward
