Mrs. Teabody Is Star-Struck

"When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets, And love will steer the stars."

Good Morning, Gentle Reader!  Pleasant dreams, yes? Mrs. Teabody rose earlier than usual to have a little star gazing, but with an overcast sky, that, sadly, was not possible. Gentle Reader, have you been paying attention to the glorious night sky? If not, do attend now. The first view of Venus along with Jupiter and Mercury close to the  western horizon was enough of a sight that the Teabodys pulled their motorcar off the highway just to gaze. All sorts of dazzling, wonderful sky action continues through March so do take a look skyward when the chance presents itself. Here's what is coming up:

Mrs. Teabody had the great good fortune to grow up in what truly were the wonder years.  Any evening the weather was mild enough, families in the tiny village burst from their houses and spent the long magical twilight in conversation and quiet games. As the village was on an elevation with only a few shade trees, the  sky was the curving lid  that sealed the tops of two opposite mountain ranges offering a completely unobstructed view. With what amazed eyes did everyone look upon the few recognizable constellations? There was scarcely a child alive who could not readily find the Big Dipper and/or the Belt of Orion. The Milky Way was a  sight of pure delight.

No  proliferation of gadgetry, although television was compelling, and the new King of America, Walt Disney, introduced a generation to hopeful story telling. How can one grow up not assimilating the philosophy of a sweet, benign  cricket (!) singing, "When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are. Anything your heart desires will come to you. If your heart is in your dream, No request is too extreme. When you wish upon a star, as dreamers do." So an entire generation grew up believing that wishing on a star would work  . . . "IF your heart is in your dream." No mystery here. The wish was not going to come true by mere wishing. The wish was going to come true through effort.

Lady Shumleywinks recently said, "Mrs. Teabody is a 'glass half full' kind of person." Mrs. Teabody concurs. Optimism is the food she grew up on: "Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding  . . . No more falsehoods or derisions, golden living dreams of visions, mystic crystal revelation, and the mind's true liberation . . ."  Wonderful sentiments, do you not agree, Gentle Reader?
And just look: "Night's candles are burnt out, and jocund day stands tiptoe on the misty mountain tops." Mrs. Teabody was absolutely certain a brand new day would dawn - - - one rife with infinite possibility, and she sincerely hopes you, too, are a "glass half full" kind of person.  She believes you are.

Ta, Darlings!
