Mrs. Teabody Takes a Big Bite at Guy Fieri's Baltimore Horseshoe

Salad Italian
French Dip
Hello, December!
Last week found Mrs. Teabody  and Company back at the fabulous new and smoke-free Baltimore Horseshoe Gambling Emporium. Even the most critical of the gaming industry can find lots to love  about Horseshoe and among those are a number of restaurants including Guy Fieri's Baltimore Kitchen and Bar where Mrs. Teabody and Company dined just one week ago.
Just like Johnny Sanchez, GFBKB has nothing cosy about it, but what it lacks in warm and inviting it more than makes up for in portion size and yummy flavors.
Mrs. Teabody and her sister decided wisely to share the Salad Italianne as a starter and quickly realized they were no match for this delicious mound of antipasti barely confined within a generous wrapping of prosciutto.  Bits of hard salami and Cheerio-sized mozzarella along with pepperocini and anchovy kept the salad full of flavor and texture. It was also VERY FILLING so when the server arrived bearing the mountain of food that is the French Dip, Mrs. Teabody nearly threw in the towel/napkin. Mon Dieu!
The lightly toasted torpedo roll alone could feed a family of five and the stack of steak with horseradish garnish and smoky chipotle onion threads proved a winning bite indeed. Mrs. Teabody had to pick at it because it defied any direct approach to one's mouth. The little trough of three kinds of fries proved far more manageable (and delicious). Mrs. Teabody's sister made it through roughly one fifth of her repast and Lady Vi managed to scratch the surface of her (superb!) crabcake. Needless to say, most of the main course was relegated to go boxes along with a piece of cheesecake which later actually did provide dessert for a family of four.
Everything was delicious and all around were other diners enjoying their impressive-looking and tasty food. Mrs. Teabody watched a gentleman polish off his plate of ribs in its entirety and she almost burst into applause. This is a place that serves HUGE portions so come prepared. And hungry.
Service was absolutely adequate and the dining pace was leisurely. For the amount of food served, the price is nothing to complain about. Highly recommend for fun, delicious and filling food!
