Mrs. Teabody Celebrates Tickle Your Fancy's Birthday
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
~Albert Camus
This has been a week of both fret and of celebration beginning with Mr. Teabody's mad flight down the eastern seaboard to meet a perfect stranger, test drive a car he had PURCHASED on his computer, hand over a largish cashier's check, and then drive north some ten hours or so:
6:30 A.M.- Baltimore
8:00 A.M. - Atlanta
8:30 P.M. - back at Chez Teabody.
Isn't Mr. Teabody a wonder? Here is a photograph of the motorcar Mr. Teabody shall drive into his dotage. Nice, practical, sensible non-sedan.:)
Mr. Teabody bought his first Honda S2000 some years ago and has enjoyed driving it every single day. Mrs. Teabody is so very glad to see Mr. Teabody so happy with his new/used motorcar! And so happy to have him safely home!
TYF celebrated its first birthday. After a busy month of painting and decorating in September 2011, Tickle Your Fancy opened its doors at 110 Lincoln Way West on October 1, 2011. How appropriate then to celebrate with a small birthday fete, do you not agree? A beautiful cake arrived from Batter Bowl Bakery, the lovely representatives from the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce arrived with ribbon, scissors and a beautiful plaque, whilst close friends and generous folks from the 'hood gathered to commemorate the occasion with song, cake and, of course, tea. A fun occasion.
The first visit from Jack Frost, the most unusual but somehow perfect car purchase, and a little celebration for the survival of an enterprise that lends new meaning to the term SMALL business all contribute to a feeling so unique to this time of year. As Mr. Teabody sparked a flame in the fireplace last evening, Mrs. Teabody could not help but think that Autumn is ever so much more than the end of Summer. Everything about Autumn sparks anticipation for the next new stage of living, the promise of all that is to come - - from jack-o-lanterns to cranberry sauce to holly berries to long snuggly nights, these coming months offer a slower, more contemplative time that serves as prelude to that day in March when all of a sudden the winds blow less fiercely and the sky turns sharply blue and solid enough to climb. But do not wish those months away, Gentle Reader. No. Enjoy every single minute.
Ta, Darlings!
