Mrs. Teabody Invites Oprah for Tea

Unruly April. Just when the woes and worries of winter were put back on the shelf, April decided to unleash her inner brattiness to herald the new season with  scary weather all around, especially in the midwest and south.  Mrs. Teabody joins you in prayers for all those falling victim to the wild and whirling winds. When the weather is bad, the Teabodys seek the comforts of home, rarely straying very far into the elements. One of those comforts is a steaming cuppa tea. Right now as Mrs. Teabody greets the day, she is enjoying Earl Grey Lavender and what a nice way to kick off the week ahead! The flavor and fragrance of a top quality tea served up in a fine china mug is one of life's great moments  and add to the fact that one may do so in one's pajamas just ratchets up the enjoyment .

Enjoying that first post-sleep cuppa is a ritual Mrs. Teabody is happy to share with you, Gentle Reader, and it turns out that those of the inclination are also sharing it with one of Mrs. Teabody's  most esteemed heroes, Oprah.  A few years back it was Oprah's endorsement of Tea Forte's silken pyramid tea bag that inspired Mrs. Teabody to add their superb product line to Tickle Your Fancy's shelves. Mrs. Teabody, like millions of others, always looks forward to Oprah's "Favorite Things" issues of "O," and it is no surprise that the KATI cup, a product well-endorsed by one of America's most trusted and revered women is one of TYF's best sellers. It's GREAT!

At Christmas time, Mrs. Teabody was a bit upset and intrigued when Oprah named Teavana's chai cannister among her favorite things. Why? you ask. A puzzle. Perhaps it is because Teavana is now owned by Starbucks, and Mrs. Teabody would like Oprah to be a bit less . . . what? Mainstream? Does Starbucks NEED Oprah Winfrey?  Perhaps Mrs. Teabody expects too much of Oprah. She has, after all, much to do and she does that "much" in amazing fashion so who is Mrs. Teabody to quibble? Still.

A question that is asked frequently of Mrs. Teabody is: Where do you get your tea? And to that question, Mrs. Teabody must always reply: "From many places" because no one tea company can supply EVERY kind/flavor/type of tea. Five absolutely independent companies and ten years of looking and Mrs. Teabody cannot find a better "English Breakfast" than that from Harney and Sons. Because it is the best, it is the one TYF will offer. It was that same company that finally gave TYF the perfect organic ginger-- a tea to weep for. There's a little tea company in Pennsylvania that does blending that Mrs. Teabody has never found anywhere else and a  West Coast tea and spice company with a young fellow at its helm who calls Mrs. Teabody once a month to talk about a new rooibos or fruit blend. The same company who gives Mrs. Teabody "Lin's Secret" does herbal infusions not found anywhere else. The point here is that Mrs. Teabody strongly suspects that Oprah could have found a strong, independent company other than Starbucks to embrace and build and starify. Yes, to starify.

Mrs. Teabody loves tea. Mrs. Teabody loves Oprah. Come to tea, Oprah. Mrs. Teabody will put the kettle on. And the tea will not be Starbucks.
